QCF welcomed Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Secretary General of Qatar National Olympic Committee in an open seminar on Successful Figures, which was developed by Abdulaziz Al-Sulaiti and Maha Al Mohannadi.

Sheikh Saoud spoke of his experiences in high school as well as the challenges he faced as a university student and said that course curricula at universities continue to get more challenging each year. He however said the effort to achieve a university degree will eventually bear dividends and reminded the attendees that they should never expect work to be easy, especially during the transition from education to taking on a full time role in the workplace.

Sheikh Saoud also said that institutions should focus on qualification, experience and skill while selecting candidates. He also highlighted the importance of young graduates learning to accept criticism, whether positive or negative, because it will ultimately benefit every candidate.

Sheikh Saoud also drew upon examples of institutions playing active roles in the development of young talent. He highlighted role of the Olympic Committee in supporting young people through a special program in which the committee sponsored the trips of more than 60 students to the US and the UK, including a number of students from Qatar University. During his speech, Sheikh Saoud also spoke briefly about Qatar's bid to host the World Cup in the next decade.

He concluded by paying tribute to the role of the volunteers and their work at the career fair, and praised their contributions.
