official launch of activities of male and female volunteers of Qatar Career Fair 2010 was held from 10:00 a. m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday December 12th, 2009, at Ibn Khaldoun Hall, at Qatar University.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Omar Al-Ansari, Vice President of Qatar University for Students' Affairs, Mr. Mr. Khalid Bin Abdulla Al-Sulaiteen, Co-Chair of the Steering Committee of Qatar Career Fair 2010, Mrs. Mrs. Mariam Al-Mansoori, Director, Human Resources Department of Doha Land , Official Sponsor of the Event, Mr. Abdulla Al-Mansoori, Director of Qatar Career Fair, Dr, Jassim Sultan, Main speaker, Mrs. Wedad Al-Hussaini, Director Students Activities, Qatar University, volunteers work team of Qatar Career Fair and Qatar University and 360 volunteers of both sexes.

            The registration for volunteerism was open from October 5th, to November 5th, 2009, during which 611 applications were received, out of which 251 applications were set aside for not meeting the requirements of admission to volunteerism. 360 applications were approved after holing number of interviews and as per the conditions set for volunteerism. These included 200 university students and recent graduates and 160 school students. The conditions included many terms the most important of which was being a Qatari national of age group of 16 to 26 years old. The volunteers will be divided into number of committees which will contribute to carrying out the tasks of Qatar Career Fair 2010, along with Qatar Career Fair work team.

            Mr. Khalid Bin Abdulla Al-Sulaiteen said: This large number of volunteers of both sexes is the first indicator of success in realization of one of the objectives of Qatar Career Fair, namely, to well found the culture of community service among our children of both sexes. He also extended his thanks to all male and female volunteers for attendance and for their care. He further stressed that the participation will open up new horizons before the volunteers and ultimately will be an added asset to their experience qualifying them thus to face the life challenges.

            Mrs. Mariam Al-Mansoori, add: ""It gives me great pleasure to be a part of the First Gathering of Volunteers for the Qatar Career Fair to be held in 2010, and DOHALAND is proud to be associated as Sponsors for this volunteer training program. To achieve our goals, we need to have dedicated, talented people working with us. We, in return, hope to be able to help people develop and flourish.""

            Speaking to the volunteers, Maryam Al Mansoori said, ""You are all here to give the most valuable gifts of all. Nothing is more precious than the time and effort that is put into giving something back to the community. You are all conscientious citizens involved in a community development exercise. Because choosing and finding the right job, sets an individual on the right path of life. And you are here to make it happen, guide and help others.""

            On his part, Mr. Abdulla Al-Mansoori, Director of Qatar Career Fair, expressed his utmost delight on the occasion of launching ceremony of volunteers of QCF 2010, describing it as a herald of a success to realize an achievement that will surpass the achievements made by work with the volunteers of the two previous Fairs. He further stressed that cooperation between Qatar Career Fair and Qatar University will have great impact on realization of success of this project and in well founding the desired objectives from this partnership. He concluded his remarks with wishes and boosting and encouragement of volunteers to seriously work and dedicate themselves for fruitful works, keeping in mind the tasks assigned to them for service and glory of their country"". It is to be noticed that in the framework of mutual cooperation between Qatar career Fair and Qatar University, a partnership agreement on organization of volunteerism was concluded on Sunday October 5th, 2009, between Qatar University and Qatar Career Fair, at the premises of Qatar University.
