Qatar Career Fair Center held a press conference that gathered Khalid Abdullah Al Sulaiteen Executive Director of Operations at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, Ahmed Al Mawlawi, Director of Administration, Qatar Petroleum, Dr. Omar Al Ansari, Vice President of Qatar University for Student Affairs, and Youssuf Al Saadi from the Ministry of Labour as well as Abdullah Al Mansoori, Executive Director of Qatar Career Fair, where they briefed about the latest preparations leading up to the organization of Qatar Career Fair 2012.

Mr. Khalid Al-Sulaiteen Executive Director of Operations at Qatar Foundation stated that the Fair will be under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the Heir Apparent. It starts on April 1, and ends on April 5, 2012. The Fair will be held for the first time in the Qatar National Convention Center.

Mr. Khalid Al-Sulaiteen affirmed that Qatar Career Fair is one of the major projects that embody the values of the Foundation in practice on the ground; burgeoning knowledge economy and unlocking human potential are the long-term investment in Qatar Foundation. In fact, the employment is not but one of the opportunities offered by the Fair in addition to the education, training, development, and career guidance.
Mr. Abdulla Al Mansoori, Executive Director of Qatar Career Fair briefed about some figures and preparations leading up to the Fair. He stated that more than 100 entities, including ministries, institutions, government companies and non-governmental organizations registered so far since the opening of the registration in mid-November 2011.
The fair villages were sorted by four areas of interest: - Energy and Industry - Business and Finance - Education, health, sports and other – Governmental.
Villages were classified in five categories: Diamond, pearl, gold, silver and bronze. The new campaign slogan for "Qatar Career Fair 2012” is: "Write the Next Chapter in Qatar's Success", while the Pen represents the basic mark of the fair as symbol of education.
The Fair has developed a number of programs, activities and events to be held during the Fair, as well as competitions that started and which results will be announced during the event itself, ie the "INVEST" project.
Al Mansoori added that the total number of volunteers who got involved in the organization of the Fair and will be present there is 300 volunteers.
Mr. Ahmed Al Mawlawi, Director of Administration at Qatar Petroleum stated that the Fair is an important occasion to bring together the agencies and organizations in the country and the future generations who are responsible for the process of progress and development taking place in the State of Qatar, in order to achieve the vision of Qatar 2030. Al Mawlawi added that Qatar Petroleum - since the end of Qatar Career Fair 2011 - hired (576) graduates from high school students and universities, and provided 65 scholarships for high school graduates; he added that Qatar Petroleum is committed to a plan to support the various events in schools and educational establishments to attract Qatari students.
Dr. Omar Al Ansari, Vice President of Students Affairs in Qatar University stated that the university booth will provide counseling and career guidance and support; he pointed out that the University has established a center of career services in 2005, being aware of the importance of providing educational and career counseling and guidance related to the needs and requirements of the individual and society; hence the university was committed to Qatar Career Fair as an event of national pride for our university which is a national leader model in the country.
Mr. Youssuf Al Saadi from the Ministry of Labor stated that the Fair exhibitors are expected to have an efficient participation in the Fair this year, by providing information clearly and transparently about employment, training, development and education opportunities for citizens and visitors, dealing seriously and effectively with the Qatarization policies, and increasing the number of scholarships according to the needs and specialties; he stressed that the organization of the Fair comes in line with Qatar Vision 2030 with respect to the human resources sector.
It is worth mentioning that Qatar Career Fair has become since 2008 a member of Qatar Foundation not only aiming to establish the annual Fair, but also developing and implementing a number of programs and initiatives that spreads career awareness and knowledge, consolidate the career culture among students and graduates, and develop their skills and abilities through courses and workshops in addition to other career activities. The Fair is organized in collaboration between five organizers: Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, Qatar Petroleum, Amiri Diwan, Qatar University, and Ministry of Labor.
